Adam K - The Story So Far.........
(30 word Version!)
He describes his music as Tough Driving Jump Up House Music, learnt to mix on decks held together with sellotape and has more energy than a Red Bull Factory. Meet Adam K
.
(Full Version)
Having acquired a serious vinyl addiction at a very young age, it is no surprise Adam decided to make music his full-time career. He built up an impressive catalogue of Vinyl before most had stopped playing with Lego. Aged 15 he got a pair of broken second hand Turntables and began teaching himself the ways of the mixer, keeping the pitch control in sync with a bit of sellotape and never ending patience.
Chasing his passion for music Adam became a devoted clubber, burning around the country with friends chasing a quality Line-Up and play list.
Finding solace for his larger than life personality and endless energy at Sundissential, Gatecrasher, Passion and Miss Moneypennys amongst others, Adam found himself listening to everything and anything from the banging chaos of Carl Cox and Lisa Lashes to Armand Van Helden and Daft Punk.
While still Studying, DJing and Clubbing, Radio became more and more prominent. Producing Radio Shows was order of the day but Adam also gained his own show every called the Weekend Workout on Loughborough Universitys LCR. Learning and using the experience of his peers he was asked to move to do the Stations Friday Night Show which Adam made his own calling it The Weekend Warm-Up.
Adams talent and enthusiasm told, landing his own shows on various RSL's and the opportunity came to produce at Londons Capital Fm working with Fabric Resident Ali B on the Capital Club Chart. Adam continued learning and producing the entire stations specialist output, finding time to present the Adam K Invasion on Capital Fm and also producing The Steve Penk Show.
Adam left Capital FM for Radio 1 which was a great career move gaining the experience of working with the Radio 1 team and the likes of Sara Cox, Jo Whiley, Pete Tong and Dave Pearce. Whilst at the BBC, Adam was approached by EMAP to work with Steve Penk again, on Key 103 and he felt this was an opportunity to complete some unfinished radio business.
Whilst working for Key Adam also landed on Kiss 100 working with Robin Banks on Drive which then developed to become the Robin Banks Breakfast Show. The shows figures were excellent with Adam producing it. Robin parted company with Kiss but Adam Remained on the show
Thats done and dusted now so currently its full focus with Rickie and Melvin and the Kiss 100 Breakfast Show and
Steve Smart on Friday Night Kiss.
Adam's passion for Djing has seen him play at nights including Pure Filth, The Egg, Coastline Ibiza, Puscha, Honey Club Brighton, Turnmills, Pacha London, Ministry Of Sound, The SE1 Club and many more.
